Bollywood Delegation visits The Netherlands6 October 2010From 10 to 15 October 2010, 15 companies from the media and entertainment sector in India will visit the Netherlands as a part of a trade mission entitled ‘Dutch Media and Entertainment Program India’. This is the first time that a delegation from this sector in India is making a collective visit to the Netherlands. The delegation will be welcomed on the 11 October by Ms. Marije Hulshof, director of NL EVD International, an agency for international business and cooperation which is a part of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. The program will include visits to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and the south Limburg area. The goal is to enable the Indian visitors to get in contact with their Dutch creative counterparts. They will see shooting locations and visit unique examples of the Dutch creative sector such as the Creative Factory in Rotterdam, the Endemol Studios in Amsterdam, the Little India Area in The Hague, and The Gardens and botanic beauty of Mondo Verde in South Limburg. In The Hague and Amsterdam, the delegation will meet the (deputy) mayors. The deputy mayor of The Hague, Mr. Rabin Baldewsingh, is of Indian origin and will welcome the delegation personally. The trade mission will be completed with the launch of the Hindi Radio Station FunX Desi, which is a part of the most popular youth radio station in the Netherlands, FunX.
Ms. Inge Horstmeier, of NL EVD International, is looking forward to the trade exchange and the interaction between the two countries. Horstmeier: “In 2010, over 40 Dutch companies went to Mumbai to visit the FICCI FRAMES where we were also a partner country. If I look at the response to this trade mission, we could easily have had 40 Indian companies visiting for trade interaction and understanding. But we wanted the program to be personal and intimate, so we decided on a limit of maximum 15 delegates. However, within our ME-India program there will be more opportunities for companies and people to interact in the future. So we will proceed in this direction and hope we can build up a structural business relationship between India and Netherlands.” The participants are:
